Our Year 6 students were the focus of our final assembly for 2018.
It was a day for showcasing their final year of primary school education, reflecting on their 8 years of schooling and celebrating their achievements.
Special awards were presented to the top students for each Learning Area and special awards reflecting the School's Virtues Project.
The Year 6 instrumental students played an introduction (Universal Studios Theme) prior to the entrance of the Graduating Students down the red carpet to their seats.
The Assembly began with an Acknowledgement of Country by Year 6 students Tajaeiah Graham and Grace Henderson and Mrs Liddelow led the school in singing the National Anthem.
Our Head Boy, Harrison Naylor and Head Girl, Isabelle Cox prepared and presented a speech reflecting on the 8 years of primary education at Castletown Primary School.

Hayley Gallop and Tiffany Blakely entertained the audience with their beautiful flute duet - Swag on my Shoulder.
Miss Ebbott announced the winner of the Faction Points Shield for the Whole School Sports with Parmelia the eventual winners in a very close competition.
The Year 6 students then presented a narrated play entitled "The Year that was 2018". This entertaining play detailed all the events of 2018 with amusing anecdotes and a coordinated mime/actions by Cayde Nell, Holly Paxton and Tito Puckey. The play highlighted the many varied successful achievements of the Year 6 students including Tyler Hawkin's Banners in the Terrace, the Chess Congress win and the third placing of our Numero team in the statewide competition.
Prizes based upon Virtues were then awarded. These awards were presented to students who consistently demonstrated virtues that are characteristic of each award.

The Year 6 students then sang their Graduation Song "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa.
The final awards were then presented. The CWA award is an award presented every 3 years by the CWA to a student who has consistently tried to achieve to their full potential. The YouthCARE award is presented to a student displaying outstanding service to the community, school or family with the YouthCARE’s core values of compassion, respect, care and service. The Dux award is awarded to the student who has demonstrated Outstanding Achievement in all areas of learning.

Dylan Walker presented the Year 6 gift of a television for the student den on behalf of all Year 6 students.
The Assembly concluded with the Year 3-5 students singing a farewell song called "Goodbye" to the Year 6 students. This beautiful song was led by Mrs Andrea Liddelow and caused a few tears amongst Year 6 students and parents alike.
After the Assembly graduating students and their parents enjoyed an afternoon tea prepared by our Year 5 parents.
An evening meal with video presentations for each class and a disco concluded the celebration of the Year 6 Graduation.
